'Shadow Citizens' are people who, by chance or design, live at the margins of the social order. We are both out and in. While we are not proper voting citizens, we have lives that mesh with the mainstream, and even though we are not noticed, we are present. Some of us are undocumented, some are legal immigrants, and many of us have simply given up voting or no longer care.
'Shadow Citizens' is an artwork made to remember us as individuals. It contains our faces and our stories placed and naturalized in parks, trails and other historical locations in the United States in which the cause of justice was at stake.
